A budget cure: Marijuana taxes?
Personally, I think this may be a good idea. Regulation will free up the nearly one million arrests we have a year for possession that backlog our court systems and put youths and blacks in early peril. It will remove the stigma. It may make the potentcy standardized and it will help rid the US and Canada of the very violent and dangerous Mexican gangs that are moving into marijuana production.
As far as I'm concerned, alcohol has ruined more lives and more families and killed more people than marijuana will ever do.
