Feeble arguments indeed

However, saying alcohol is worse is about as feeble an argument as can be made. I don't think any responsible parent let's their kid get away with the old "two wrongs make a right" argument. It says a lot about the marijuana advocate's reasoning on the subject. None of it good.
Hmmm. 'Having a little trouble following you here. Saying that one thing is better than another, or not as bad, is a long way from advancing the argument that two wrongs make a right. Methinks you're simply attempting to slip in your value judgment that pot is as bad as booze, while you trot out an irrelevancy, hoping nobody will notice.
I think the argument to which you may be referring falls more along the lines that while booze is bad, and pot is relatively good, the former is legal while the latter is not. 'Hardly two wrongs.
Just to make it crystal clear: alcohol consumption is implicated in a vast array of health problems, including arthritis, cancer, fetal alcohol syndrome, heart disease, hyperglycermia, hypoglycemia, kidney disease, liver disease, malnutrition, nervous disorders, obesity, and psychological disturbances.
Many people drink themselves to death, either directly or indirectly. To my knowledge, there is not one death that can be directly attributed to marijuana consumption.
Studies done in Europe show that driving under the influence of marijuana is a much less risky proposition than drunk driving for the simple reason that stoned drivers slow down, while drunks speed and generally drive with reckless abandon.
In any event, it seems that your mind is made up and nothing is going to change it, not even, apparently, if it turns out that the much-maligned marijuana is a cure for cancer.
