Halo thermal IR sources
In the previous post, Socrates brought up that extraterrrestrial civilizations may manifest themselves as thermal infrared sources in the outer reaches of our galaxy. Does anyone know if a systematic search of IRAS data has been carried out to search for these objects? I recall hearing somewhere that someone was actually combing through the data trying to find likely candidates, but I've had no follow-up on that.
