re: Non Sequitur.
"As alluded to by Socrates, it has been proposed that alien civilizations may have constructed vast Dyson-Sphere like structures that could be detected over galactic distances by the enormous amount of waste heat they generate."
Oh.
Why would an alien civilization capable of making Dyson sphere have an enormous amount waste heat?
Perhaps Dyson spheres are put around stars like red dwarfs.
Red dwarf would last longer, therefore might be worth the enormous investment and a red dwarf might be more stable in terms of solar flares. And a red dwarf star might be in more "need" of such things as trying to capture all the energy and the sphere could be smaller- therefore cheaper.
