re: True, a few stills mean nothing.
My rule of thumb is to be suspicious of any still photograph showing a particular awkward expression or weird position. Anybody with a camera pointed at them all the time will generate hundreds of these, and then you're at the mercy of the photo editor.
Lindy's overactive imagination aside, I've seen most of these shots before, and on news sites. There was a thread here on the volleyball thing back at the time.
