This used to be true.
Two of the SS agents who ran alongside the car as it got going would jump into the back of a trailing station wagon. They sat on jump seats which faced the center, the guy on the left watching to right side and vice versa. They both held sawed-off shotguns.
Not exactly a surgical weapon.
