Some Ponzi schemes are slower.

The number of workers per retiree have dropped steadily over time. The fact remains that the beneficiaries are paid from money put into the system immediately beforehand by younger workers. The "trust fund" is a mythological construct, a set of numbers in a column indicating money that the government owes the retirees. The system is unsustainable as it's currently designed.
