I realize that the film Roger and Me is anathema to American conservatives, but I recommend it as a very good depiction of what happens when a major employer shuts down. It does not promote employment opportunities for the people losing their jobs. It does exactly the opposite.
I should point out that the tone in my prior post was all wrong. When I wrote it, I was confused and I thought I was responding to TB. TB is pretty constantly insulting to liberals, so I give it back to him. I did not intend anything of the kind for you, REB. Sorry.
