"Cheap" Solar Concentrator

It's already going to cost too much for the folks who need it most, even when mass produced. Anything else added to it will simply make it a toy for campers in North America.

24 dollars might as well be a million dollars when your yearly income total about 14 dollars.

And take a look at the Earth at any time and the fires raging on it. The campfires and cookfires of all of Africa wouldn't equal 1/10000th of these natural (mostly lightning spawned) fires constantly raging.

People talk about helping the 3rd world and then they get all greenie and make sure that they don't help them and put conditions on all those who actually do want to help them and are not indoctrinated with well meaning ignorance and misplaced fears. The thread here is case in point.

3rd worlders are, by default, ignorant and reproduce like rabbits. While we all might wish they could conceive the value of birth control, such efforts have never worked when the IQ is below a certain level.

While it might be better for the planet if these folks die young, since their reproductive rate is so high, those who attempt to bring civilization to the villages, eventually, will increase their QOL to the point where their birth rate goes down. Once these villages start grasping wealth creation and market economics, and as education slowly elevates their average IQ, the birth rate will drop, and power plants will eventually be built to power factories and new cities which arise from the ashes of the old villages.

Yes, the new cities will pollute too.

Progress at this point leads to pollution.

Eventually someone will do a TED talk and show how to collect atmospheric lightning and store it for use all over the world, or how to tap the electromagnetic field of the planet for limitless power by matching the field with a smaller one and using inductance to transfer the power of the sun, electromagnetically and creating powerplants anywhere on Earth regardless of the environment. Someone will patent methods of creating vastly more efficient solar power by designing solar cells to use specific solar wavelengths sequentially to multiply the power generated. Other methods will tap the endless flow of nature around us, just like Tesla harnessed Niagara Falls.

There are LITERALLLY countless methods of creating limitless CLEAN power. Humanity is still just not quite swift enough to tap these methods, and market them, but they will tap them sooner or later as the limited number of renaissance type personalities regularly get born into the world. And when they do, pollution will be limited to nature's own constant pollution.

So a few hundred more years of man-made pollution wont make a big difference in the scheme of things. And the campfires of some 3rd worlders, who are already using campfires to cook, are truly inconsequential.

Let's not stifle progress with green nonsense.
