Of course not.
The police around here are very community-oriented. They are well-received in our schools, libraries, local paper, and other venues that are largely run by liberals (at least here).
I think that the far Left has issues with cops and authority, but come to that, so does the far Right. People who are well-adjusted members of society, liberal or conservative, aren't usually obsessed with the subject.
