Intimidation, not only of the opposition leadership, but of the uncommitted and even of their own lukewarm supporters who may not be demonstrating enough zeal, is the plan. It includes seizing the forum, hijacking the dialogue, creating the impression a vocal and self-serving dominant minority is an outraged and oppressed and victimized majority.

Remember the gang of crew-cut skinny-tie young Republican thugs that was bussed into Florida during the vote recount after the Gore-Bush election standoff? Things like that don't happen spontaneously. They are carefully planned, generously financed and ruthlessly directed by professionals. The same thing is happening now with the health care debate. And if you have been following the news, it is happening all over: Dogget and Sibelius have already been targeted, and there will be others, as the memo you linked to suggests. And these actions will escalate in severity as well as in number.

And of course, its been happening quite systematically on these boards for quite some time now.
