Read the link. You are talking about the relationship between the group Tea Party Patriots and Freedomworks.
Even if you established that link somehow, the supposed connection of interest was the connection between the author of the memo (remember him?) and the website Tea Party Patriots, i.e. a single blog post by Robert Macguffie. Such "evidence" would make me a card-carrying member of an amazing number of groups on the web.
Am I to understand that this blog post therefore "connects" MacGuffie--the author of the famous memo--to Freedomworks by yet another tenuous "six degrees" connection?
And if we want to talk "astroturf," can we look at the sources of the pro-Obamacare activity? For extra credit, look up Health Care for America Now, who's involved in that group, and how much money and influence they're throwing around. Here's an HCAN memo in response to the other one, ironically also from TPM.
There's also a huge push directly from the White House website to bring out organizers, and to track dissent.
I assume you've already seen this:
There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end of life care. These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation. Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov.
That's a White House e-mail address. If George Bush had put up something like that, you would have seen liberal heads exploding from orbiting satellites, and if anyone here has one shred of intellectual honesty left, they would admit that.
