You know, there’s a lot of ways you could have gone with this, TB. You could have done the right thing and simply admitted that this strategy is just plain wrong, condemned the people in your party that do it, and scored real points for your side with us by doing so. It would have been forgotten in a day. You could have even reminded us this type of “shout down your opponent” tactic is exactly the kind of boorish behavior the radicals in the 60s used to intimidate and silence their enemies (which was anyone who didn’t buy their program 100%--you know, my way or the highway) and which alienated even many thoughtful moderates and leftists like myself.

Neither is this a battle between the main stream media and the conservative blogs. And a line-by-line dissection of the text in an attempt to distract the attention and reframe the argument will not work either. The text is there, the news reports of the implementations of the tactic are there, and your pathetic attempt to muddy the waters is there, all for us to read and compare, side by side and make our own decisions.

No, instead, Tail Gunner TB does the predictable, and covers up for the goon squad. You locate the latest hastily assembled spin package from the winger press and rush to plug the leak, instead. Tell me, TB, is there a wingnut anywhere you won’t make excuses for? Do you really think it is congenitally impossible for a conservative to do ANYTHING wrong? Will you accept anything, however foul, that furthers your cause? Again, it's not so much the alleged political skulduggery that's the issue here, people on both sides of the fence have been playing these games for years. It's your singleminded insistence of always covering for your side, no matter what. You give yourself away every time.

Of course, the Bushies never had these problems at their pep rallies. Their public meetings were always before friendly audiences of selected sycophants, vetted in advance, carefully staged and managed events with plenty of security to hustle out any troublemakers who managed to sneak in.
