Reread the piece
It is not a surprise that Jefferson believed in a God-created Universe,
but that a modern-day creationist is trying to make it look like one of
our more intelligent and rational US Presidents was on their side, despite
having died long before Darwin published his ideas in 1859 as has been
pointed out here.
Someone has to call these charltans out or the general public will
become even more confused and suspicious on this matter.
