If you can successfully copy it, then you don't need to go to a graphics program to paste it.

You can use explore and right click on any folder you want it to go to, then select paste. Or right-click/paste it directly to your desktop.

Just make sure you are creating a jpg/gif/tif or whatever and not creating a shortcut (that won't work).
