I'm really struck by the subtlety of the little animations. At the close of today's post [spoiler] there is a Google Earth video that shows the earth with a much higher sea level than we are used to seeing. They put the idea out there in the form of a question, but would have been easy to miss "What happened to Florida?", and then they show a video a few minutes later with the earth spinning below and Florida is missing. Its brilliant without being obnoxious.
I wonder how much of this is scripted out ahead of time or if the author is writing/animating by the seat of his pants. Its abstract, but on closer inspection there is an internally consistent structure behind it. Its abstract art, but it isn't just paint thrown on a canvas, there is skill behind it.
