A question regarding TO from the lunar surface.

I know the astronauts flew the LEM standing up. I also know they had to have enough room to sleep.

The take-off from the Moon looked to be quite rapid. What was their configuration when that happened? Was the acceleration as fast as it seems?

I watched the TO recently where the capsule was there and then it wasn't there and wondered about this.
