Another British health care "anecdote"

Of course, 4,000 women is a lot of anecdotes.

When Eri's previous post used an example of someone giving birth in Britain, did anyone else raise an eyebrow at the apparent norm being "a large ward whose 20-odd beds were separated by curtains and changing tables?" I've been at the birth of both of my children, and visited others, and I've never seen anyone in a room with more than two people, although my wife says there are rooms that hold as many as four. Private rooms are not that common, but my wife got one once during a surgery at her hospital out of courtesy because she was an employee.
