We need, not so much to try harder, but just to keep trying. When Trump's conservatives march with the Confederate treason flag on one side and the swastika on the other, we need to remember that they're giving aid and comfort to America's two mortal enemies (we never directly went to war with the Soviet Union). I don't recall the Constitution's definition of treason stipulating that the enemy must still be around and active; an American commits treason by expressing admiration and support for the Confederacy or for Nazi Germany.

Harsh, bloodthirsty words? Yeah, so? Choosing the side of Nazis, or any anti-democratic authoritarian belief system, means rejecting western civilization and all its protections. Feel contempt for the rule of law? Don't expect the law to protect you, then. Enjoy this boot in your face.
