Seeing that I miss him as well, allow me to throw in this in defense of science:
Science recognizes that there are things it does not understand; that's what drives its curiosity, its awe, its sleepless nights...
However, Science demands proof. So far as ESP goes, there is none.
Not a statistical proof that it happens beyond a statistical difference with chance nor a mechanism for how it occurs. Without those, I cannot grant it scientific belief.
But let that not blind you to the strange world of random chance. I have had experiences myself in things that could be interpreted as ESP just as easily as random chance. As a scientist, I have to go with chance. As a poet, I find beauty in chance. I see it all around me and it makes me smile.
