I've had dreams that featured people who turned out to have died that night. My best writing has always seemed to be dictated to me by someone else. But I know that no supernatural or paranormal force is responsible for this. I just haven't turned off the conduit from my unconscious.
We are so very perceptive, in both conscious and unconscious realms, but we block out a lot of what we perceive. Honestly, some of it can be creepy in its symbolism, depth and detail, so that's understandable. Me, I've named the unconscious persona and talk to him. It's easier to summon the muse that way.
