So Trump has no power to pardon these Republican sleazeballs. The AG will very likely press charges, and a conviction should be worth several years in jail.
Like you say in your PS, they don't seem to care if they're caught red-handed, but in this case it's massive hubris. Trump and Republican state governments are spectacularly corrupt, but I think these crooks just forget that Republicans don't control all the states.
Especially not California, the nation-state in a perfect position to secede if Trump somehow manages to steal this election.
