Maybe you should consider that the SUPPLY of ice cream goes down in winter because the demand does also? Supply and demand always try to meet. I'm sure many times over the years I, as a layman, have made comments or asked questions about a scientific issue that reveals my fundamental misunderstanding of that science. ER, I have a ton of respect for your opinions and knowledge. It is clear however you don't know what your talking about regarding the law of supply and demand. This is college undergrad stuff but not everyone takes it. Any changes you might want to make to prices or quantities will change the outcome but not the mechanism of how that outcome arrives. Differing economic philosophies do not say the law of supply and demand is invalid, only that policy can tweak it to change the outcome. Supply and demand exists everywhere in nature. It's a fundamental principle seen everywhere and in everything in the universe.
