A veto-proof majority in both houses of Congress, plus a substantial power in the governorships and state houses (not to mention SCOTUS and many district courts in their pocket) will mean no amount of righteous voter indignation will be able to stop them. People like Scott, Desantis, Jordan, Scalise, Gomers, Cruz, Gaetz, Graham and Boebert will simply declare any opposition as "illegitimate" and "unAmerican". We are rapidly approaching the point where democracy and the vote can no longer restore things. That's been the whole point of the post-Trump burning of the Reichstag. I can't rule out (in fact, I fully expect) that they will declare Martial Law, probably as part of some Trumped-up "border emergency".
This isn't your father's Republican Party.
