You vastly underestimate the opposition to potential GOP authoritarianism. Democrats and independents would not stand by and allow the end of elections. And good number of republicans would certainly join them. The press would not be silenced. The courts would not be silenced. Your fears are overbaked. I don't doubt for a minute that there are many bad rightwing actors who love to attempt a coup but I just can't believe it would succeed. As I stated before, there are too many voices to silence. Ours among them.
