Accusing them of being unable to govern is something they wear as a badge of honor. Their goal is to take down the government. Chaos is their normal.
Even if McCarthy becomes Speaker on the next vote, and unlikely proposition, he will be deeply damaged and weakened. The job of a GOP Speaker was already going to be a living hell. Now it will literally be impossible.
A potential positive result out of this is that the group of about 50 GOP representatives in the 'problem solvers caucus' who actually want to govern may cross the isle and join democrats on a couple must pass votes, e.g., the Debt Ceiling, just out of contempt for their nutjob colleagues. The 13 House republicans who voted for last year's bipartisan infrastructure bill were all reelected. A reason for some hope.
