No interest whatsoever in actually passing laws that would help the American people, like lowering prescription drug costs, assistance for families raising children, elderly home care, etc. Just passing bills that they know without any doubt will never become law, will never make it past the Senate or Biden's desk, simply for performance sake. Simply to have a shiny object they can say they voted for. "We voted to defund the IRS, we voted to close the border, we voted for a balanced budget amendment." No interest in real governing. No interest in doing the hard work of compromise to actually make progress on anything, even the border crisis. ER is correct, the GOP needs the border problems to stir up their base. That's why they say there will never be immigration reform until the border is solved. It will never be 100% solved because it is unsolvable to that degree.
