I'm not sure why you cling to the carbon tax solution. I've pointed out the obvious problem to it before. Maybe you didn't read my response? I'll reiterate: Taxes are too easily repealed. All it would take is a rightwing president and congress and it's gone. Done. Over. A carbon tax is not a solution because it would never stand the test of time. It's a good solution that would never survive politically. Please recognize this reality and let it go.
At least you are trying to use economics as a solution in attempting to lower demand for fossil fuels by raising the price. Instead of artificially raising the price, the same solution is acheived by making renewables cheaper than fossil fuels. They have reached that point and are getting cheaper.
