I can walk down my street and look at the push broom leaning up against my garage door on Google Earth. I really don't think the Grand Illuminati need my GPS coordinates to shoot a Hellfire at my house (this actually happens about twice a month since Obama was elected. Fortunately, my gigawatt laser defenses have held out.)

On a more serious note, the original Constitutional function of the census was to count people for representation. In the past, the census "long form" got pretty damn nosy, and about 1 in 6 people had to fill it out.

Good news for privacy fans is that apparently this time around, only the "short form" will be used in the census.

Bad news is that it will be replaced by the equally-mandatory and nosy American Community Survey, carried out on rotating groups of citizens every year.
