To be clear, my comments are more about the Nobel Peace Prize and the politial hacks who award it. Note that this is a completely different group and nationality than the one that awards the other Nobel prizes. You are right that Obama did not ask for this, but it was his groveling on behalf of America in front of the international community that made him a shoo-in. This award is basically a "good dog" from the European socialists, and a warning not to stray by doing something like increasing military action anywhere.

The Nobel committees words are a farce. We have years of experience showing us how much "diplomacy" is worth in dealing with the world's tyrants. When was the last time you saw a nation freed from tyranny by "diplomacy" without a powerful military force backing it up with either threatened or real action?

Geez, Iran alone should be enough of an example. Most of the world's thugs are currently peeing on Obama's head, and he thinks it's raining.

BTW Eri, the country is going down the drain right now. The diminishing of our power, wealth, and position in the world is deliberate, and part of the philosophy shared by Obama and the Nobel committee against the idea of America as a superpower, or even as an exceptional nation.
