(OK, so I'm back from a very long absence. I admit I was waiting for the new software to settle down to a useable format, and have been waiting for life to slow down enough for me to rejoin the community)

How many people are watching V? I have to say, last night's pilot knocked it out of the park for me. The cast was perfect and the CGI was stunning.

I watched all of the V shows as a kid. I was 8 years old when the original miniseries came out. My parents did not approve of us watching such a violent show, however lucky for my brothers and I they weren't home on the two evennings it aired. The show scared the crap out of me, however it also made quite an impression on me, which I haven't ever forgotten. When the later series came out my parents had eventually relaxed their standards a bit and allowed us to watch them. While there were many premises that seem silly in hindsight, they really aren't much sillier than a lot of scifi of the era.

So I'm happy to see the remake. So far it seems like they are taking some smart moves. Watching the V's play to human arrogances, hope, and lusts and watching humanity as a whole roll over and take it all in just seems so realistic to me. It seems the perfect way to take over the planet. The fact that the Vs have been doing it for years in preperation adds to the illusion. I can't wait to see how it all plays out. Also the resistance movement seems so fragile, it is frightening to watch.
