I agree, they will probably continue to work until the satellites quit working. I have a handheld GPS I use when backpacking and can usually see 8 or so satellites at once. I only need to connect to 3 to get a decent signal, so I imagine there would be at least 3 in range for some time. After the satties started dropping offline coverage would probably begin to be more spotty but not drop off altogether.
