I am concerned with the survival of Western culture, which, in the long train of human history, is a rare exception to the rule (miserable peasants living under the control of an all-powerful ruler, elite group, or state).
Authoritarianism and totalitarianism seem to be humanity's ground state. Western democracies, in several nations, are like an unstable molecule among a field of catalysts.
