Re: Atlas carries the world on its shoulders
I saw an actual Atlas missile outside
a museum.
It's amazingly small.
It's no larger than the fuselage of say a DC3 aircraft, or the size of a two bedroom Airstream trailer.
In fact, empty of propellant, the Atlas missile is lighter than an Airstream trailer.
Seeing how small the Atlas missile is amazed me,
considering one like it loft a man and a one ton spacecraft into orbit.
