White trash with money
the "Oasis of the Seas" doesn't even look like a ship. From a purely esthetic point of view, I think it's hideous. Compare its profile with the great transatlantic liners of the past, the France, the Queens, the United States or even the Andrea Dorea. And those ships weren't exactly slouches in the luxury department either.
I went aboard the France once, not as a passenger, but to see a friend off. I spent a morning aboard her, and got the tour. It was definitely a class act, beautifully appointed and elegant, but thoroughly understated. And there was never any doubt you were aboard a ship.
