since when did bush/cheney ever give a damn what any democrat said about anything?
there were a lot of things going on back then that were never properly explained, like gearing up for iraq, and the infamous rumsfeld/cia feud.
bush had the watch, he blew it. it's that simple. if they had caught the sob they'd still be bragging about it, and they'd have every right to.
