The way 9-11 and the recent attempt to bomb an airplane have been handled is interesting, and an example of how conservatives and liberals differ.

The 9-11 plot involved some 30 or 40 people, 19 active participants, and a lot of planning and training. 4 simultaneous hijackings, an incredible feat. At least one FBI agent screamed her head off about this plot.

And the Bush Administration said "Who would have thought?" Nothing broke down, there were no failures, no one was responsible. Especially not the Saudi Arabians, who funded and manned the event. And since no one was responsible, well, it was just inevitable.

Obama, by contrast, is saying that indeed the system broke down when a lone individual attempted to bomb one plane with explosives hidden in his shorts. One person, not 19, one plane, not 4. And his administration is accepting responsibility and instituting corrections.

Accepting responsibility. What a concept!
