The Academy awards choice of Hurt Locker as best Picture shows that the members just can't bring themselves to choose a science fiction movie as best picture no mater how good it is. The Hurt Locker is in no way a better film than Avatar. Not even close!. Avatar is a grand aw inspiring spectacle of a movie that takes your breath away. And you leave the theater wanting to go back and see it again and again, which I did 2 more times. Isn't that what you want from a best picture? The Hurt locker, though well made and well acted, is a low key sometimes boring, depressing film that I wouldn't go see again, rent the DVD, or recommend to anyone.
