More health care impact on middle class
Like many people with family members working for large companies, we have a health care "flex spending" account, where we set aside a certain amount every year that doesn't get taxed, and we can pay uncovered medical expenses.
Last year, my wife's employer raised our limit to $3,000, and we took it. We always use it all up.
Now the limit is $2,500. For everyone. The rest I pay out of taxable income. On top of that, OTC drugs no longer qualify. Thanks loads. In case anyone's keeping track, that's a middle class tax increase.
This, and more "surprises" discovered, post-passage, by the New York Times.
"Who knew?" says the NYT. Answer to the NYT: You did, you SOBs, before the vote. Or you should have.
