Expanding outward

Is not the same as expanding upward, which was my point. IF there is a meter rise is sea level, this amount of "transgression" of the shore line would render this new land into a mudflat, subject to regular tidal innundation. Hoping against hope that deltaic sedimentation will save their coast against a rising sea is wishful thinking.

So on the one hand climate change is not happening, but on the other hand, if it is, then things won't be so bad? We can handle a meter sea rise, eh?
