I installed the 64-bit version in my 2.66 GHz dual processor machine a couple of months or so back. When I got the system (inherited it, so to speak) it had 64-bit XP.

I'm in a long dry spell as far as contract work goes (or had you noticed I'm killing a bit of time here?) and it seemed like a good time to work the bugs out of all my CAD and other software with the latest operating system. If it was going to screw up on me, best it happen when my workload was low.

Of course, I still have my old machine up and running on the next desk, with a complete mirror image of all my data files. For starters, some of the old tools I use won't run on the new one.

So far, it's worked just fine. I think there are some obscure driver issues still, but only for devices I use rarely, and that I can hook up to my old XP machine.
