Since this whole affair seems to have devolved into a pointless political contest of wills, let this (only slightly biased) spectator post the score.
For me, capture of a suspect in the Times Square bombing means; one, the bad guy didn't get away, two, we got enough evidence on him to be fairly well assured of a conviction, and three, there is a trail leading to possible other conspirators.
For our conservative friends, the important points are; one, it wasn't a right wing wackjob that was responsible, two, an opportunity to spin it against the MSM has presented itself, and three, the implication has been been made that a middle eastern terrorist is, somehow, a form of left-wing wackjob. After all, if the wacko doesn't come from the right, he must come from the left; conservatives view politics as totally one-dimensional.
As far as I can tell, no one on this board speculated on the politics of the bomber, either way. The score is 3-all. Let's call it a draw and move on.
