Yes, I respect Consumer Reports
It's nice to trust SOMEBODY.
There has been research put out by the DOA that I found highly suspect in the past. I judge by what may be left out of the research or how it's presented. I've helped write too many medical journal articles to not be familiar with how studies can be weighted. No matter how much the M.D. for whom I worked from '87 to '98 tried to be objective, he was always aware in the back of his mind that half or more of his income derived directly from pharmaceutical companies for lectures and payment for participating in their studies--to the point where I questioned his ethics (not to his face).
