"If they don't allow dogs, it ain't heaven." As they point out in the article, there is more than one story like this.
I remember a discussion like this with friends who put great store in the Bible, and were worried about not seeing their dogs again. I pointed out a verse in Revelation 19 where Christ comes riding out of heaven on a horse, followed by an army of the righteous, ALSO riding horses. I said, "if they've got horses, you can bet they've got dogs."
C. S. Lewis believed that there was no good thing on Earth that did not exist in an even better form in Heaven.
