The last time I was in Cuba was in the summer of 1958, before Castro took power. Cuba was racist, all right, but even back then, there was no Jim Crow or KKK. And the lynchings were totally integrated, indoors, and government sponsored.
But I remember exactly what it was like in Florida about that time. It sucked a big one if you couldn't pass for white. Still, I guess it's OK, we didn't have any socialists, either. I suppose that made it all right.
