Planets die and planets are born. Earth is simultaneously the most insignificant piece of turd in the multiverse and the center of everything in the multiverse.
It all depends on your perspective. The end of humanity on the Earth is coming faster than most scientists currently believe. It's measured in hundreds of thousands to millions of years - not billions. However, there are MANY futures and in many humanity colonizes other worlds.
In most humanity will recognize that being human is like being in the second grade and that one graduates humanity into worlds with greater challenges and enhanced sentience. The human brain and human form is by no means the piece de resistance of universal sentience.
Many things to look forward to. No need to be depressed. What's more the Earth like everything else in the universe is eternal - from an abstract infinite perspective. Once humanity masters time/space the Earth is always an "open doorway" and being born here is a fundamental frequency-relationship proposition, not a soul-randomly-is-born-at-a-certain-time proposition. In a nutshell what I'm saying is that someone could die tomorrow and be born in 70,000 BC, 1,000,000 AD into or at the time of Jesus. It's all math - adjusting your numbers to match.
Space travel will eventually be done the same way - crunching numbers and turning space ships into teleportation devices. Actually passing through any space to get somewhere is so passé in most parts of the universe.
