Poor old Hans Dummshticker.
He's almost 110 years old, still wearing his musty, moldy grey-coat and spiked helmet, and
he's still manning that well-camouflaged trench in the Argonne Forest in Eastern France; his Mauser rifle still locked and loaded (though a bit rusty after 92 years); ready to shoot any Doughboy, Tommy or Polieu who may dare
approach. π
Poor Hans! His eyesight is bad. His rheumatism
is really stiffening him up. His field telephone has been down for decades. And there's a skeleton of a German dispatch rider and rusty bicycle near it about a 100 feet from the trenches. Poor sod was to deliver the message
that the Armistice was signed to Hans before a bullet
silenced him, and Hans never found out. π’
Private Hans Dummshticker thinks that a grandson
of the Kaiser now rules the greater German Fatherland. π
Somebody better notify the poor boy before he croaks.

I think Hans Dummshticker will be glad.
