I think I remember that thread, it was right after we changed ships.
As a matter of fact, I'd never heard of SketchUp until that discussion. If memory serves, you (I think?) recommended doing complex 2d line drawings in AutoCad, then importing into SketchUp. I've taken that to heart, and man, what a blast!
You've probably seen this already, but Engineering Toolbox now has a SketchUp page, with all sorts of pre-made, difficult to draw shapes. (Pipes, bends, etc..)
