Drug companies hide the cost of their medications for good reason. If everyone knew how much the pills they swallow actually cost, they'd go after big pharma and all the lobbying the world wouldn't save them. But insurance covers most of it so the true cost is hidden.
I'm taking a medication right now that I had to fight my insurance company to cover because it's so expensive. And I don't blame them. When my doctor justified it to them, they approved it. The medication costs $1200 per month. I pay $60 X 2 each month since right now I only get a half a month at a time. But I'm not bitching at this point because I'm must tickled they covered it for me or I'd have had to go back to the other medication which may have caused my atrial fibrillation.

Common sense has nothing to do with it.
