I pointed out that if the premise magically assumes 2009 shouldn't count on Obama's record, then there's no reason under that assumption that 2001 should count for Bush's. Doesn't speak to the accuracy of the assumption either way.
You can't split it two ways. Either you count both years to the respective president at that time, or you don't.
